Twitch is a great platform for sitting, relaxing, and watching your favorite ribbons playing games and chatting with their communities. However, if you are bored with Twitch, you might want to deactivate or delete your account. This is how you do it.
How to Deactivate a Twitch Account
If you need a little time from Twitch, you can deactivate your account first. This will allow you to pause your Twitch activity and hide your profile from view. You will not be able to log in, chat, or use your account in any way unless you choose to reactivate it.
This is a good option if you want a little time away from the platform, but you are thinking of coming back later. Don’t forget to terminate the active Prime Twitch subscription and other paid channel subscriptions in advance to ensure that you will not be charged when your account is deactivated.
If you forget, don’t worry – Twitch has to end this subscription automatically after it ends. If you reactivate your account before the subscription ends, you can continue to enjoy the attached privileges.
To deactivate your Twitch account, go to the Twitch website and enter. You must do this from a web browser, because you will not be able to deactivate your account using the Twitch application on desktop, iPhone or Android.
After logging in, select your account icon in the upper right corner. From the drop-down menu, click the “Settings” option.
On the Twitch settings page, scroll down until you reach the “Deactivate Your Twitch Account” section and then click the “Deactivate Account” link.
Make sure the Twitch account is signed in with the account you want to deactivate. If you want, you can provide a reason in the “Tell us why you have activated your account” box, but this is entirely optional.
Once you are ready to deactivate your account, click the “Deactivate Account” button.
Your account must now be deactivated. You will be signed out of Twitch, and all activities in your account must be paused.
If you want to reactivate your account at any time, log back into Twitch from the service’s desktop website using account details that are disabled.
You will be asked if you want to reactivate your account – click “Reactivate” to do so.
This will restore your account, allowing you to continue streaming or view other streams.
How to delete a twitch account
Disabling your Twitch account gives you the option to restore it if you want or need it later. If you want to delete your Twitch account, you can, but this will permanently delete everything attached to that account, including friends, subscriptions, and following channels.
You will not be able to retrieve your account after you delete it, and other users will be able to claim your user ID after it has been recycled. If you are an element, first deactivate your account – you can always delete the account later.
To delete your Twitch account, open the deletion account page on the Twitch website. This link isn’t easy to access, so you have to click this link manually to access the page. If you are not logged in, you must do this first.
You can give a reason to delete your account in the box provided, but this is optional. Once you are ready to delete the account, click the “Delete Account” button.
Twitch will confirm that your account was deleted with a message that said. After this appears, your Twitch account, settings, and all other relevant data will be deleted.
You won’t be able to retrieve your account after doing this, but you can register your account using the same user ID, you must do it.
