How to Share Screens at Webex Meetings

Step by step guide for screen sharing guides at Webex meetings

Cisco WebEx Meeting is an outstanding video conferencing application with many features. One of the most important features in a video conferencing application is Screen Sharing.

Webex Meetings has a great screen sharing option that allows users to share not only the entire screen but also certain windows as desired.

So, we will see how to share screens in the Cisco WebEx Meeting in this article.

First, you need to hold or join a meeting to share your screen. If you want to know how to join a WebEx meeting, read our guide on how to join a WebEx meeting at the link below.

After you are connected to the Webex meeting room, you will see the meeting control panel at the bottom of the screen.

1

In the Control Meeting, we have the ‘Share Content’ option. After you click it, you will see various options such as the sharing screen, share the application window, create a new whiteboard, and share the file.

2

Share Full Screen (everything on your screen)

To share the entire screen, click the “Share Content” option then click the “Screen 1” sharing button to share the entire screen. If you have multiple monitors, they will appear as “Screen 2” and so on. Up to 16 monitors are supported by Webex Meetings.

3

After you click the share option on “Screen 1”, screen sharing will begin and the screen sharing toolbar will appear in the top center of the screen. This reminds users that they are currently sharing a screen.

To stop screen sharing, move your cursor to the Screen Sharing toolbar and click ‘Stop Sharing’. Next to the Stop Sharing button is the ‘Pause’ button which can be used to pause the screen sharing session.

4

Share the Sepicific Application Window

If you don’t want to share your entire screen, it’s certainly possible to share one application window that you want to display.

To share a specific application window, first, you need to click the sharing content option in the meeting control panel and select the application window from the menu.

For example, if you want to share your Firefox browser window. After clicking on the content sharing options, you will see Firefox sharing options at the bottom of the “Screen 1” section. Click the ‘Share’ button to share the Firefox window.
5

You can also choose to share the other Windows applications shown above. All applications running on your computer will appear in this section.
